Pelton turbines are suitable for drops from 50 to 1000 m with variable flow rates from 100 l / s to 5 m ³ / s.
This action turbine is a plant typically found in Alpine environments. From the insertion trough, the water reaches the plant through the penstock that may also have a significant development, amounting to several kilometres. From this, it is adopted to the impeller using suitable nozzles that can range from 1 to 6 in number.
The impeller is an element that transforms the hydraulic energy into mechanical energy and is made up of a wheel with 14-22 double spoon blades for the best exploitation of the kinetic energy of water.
