Kaplan Turbines

The Kaplan Turbines are suitable for drops from 4 to 20 m with variable flow rates from 5 to 50 m3 / s.

In these hydroelectric turbines, the water reaches the impeller conveyed by a spiral shaped duct with variable section and still passing through a distributor with mobile blades.

The impeller is an element that transforms hydraulic energy into mechanical energy and is made up of a unit with 3-5 adjustable blades according to a law of maximum efficiency with respect to the distributor, such, that it allows for the best production yields to be obtained over a wide range of flow rate variabilities.
